The president of the Segura Hydrographic Confederation, Mario Urrea, accompanied by the Technical Director, Carlos Marco, has held a working meeting with the Beniaj�n Neighborhood Association, represented by Juan Antonio Gonzalez, Manuel Lled�, Paco Leal and Vanesa S�nchez Arce.

The meeting that is held telematically for health reasons due to COVID, as an example of responsibility to help minimize and avoid possible infections between participants by avoiding travel, following the recommendations of health authorities.

The Association is interested in learning about the Garruchal Dam project, also in seeing the possibilities of acting in hydrological corrections of the Rambla del Garruchal basin, the execution of a bridge to replace to the existing ford and the environmental recovery of the promenade as it passes through the urban area of ??Beniaj�n that allows it to be a green space, a kind of corridor that serves as recreation for citizens.

It has been explained to them that a project as large as a Dam, before being authorized, must be subjected to a cost benefit analysis.

The president has informed the Neighbors Association that the conservation and maintenance of waterways in urban and peri-urban areas is a municipal responsibility.

Regarding the cleaning of the bridges that still maintain the effects of DANA, it is the responsibility of the owner of the bridge and the highway.

The president has promised that he will transfer the concerns of the residents to the General Directorate of Water of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge to carry out this analysis.

Finally, a call has been made for collaboration between administrations, so that those who are harmed are not the neighbors.

The president has promised to send technicians to tour the riverbed of the promenade and see in situ the demands of the Neighborhood Association, proposing possible solutions.

Likewise, and in view of the report drawn up by the technicians, the president has also promised to write to the Administration that is competent so that they can undertake what is requested by the members of the Association.� function { ;(, , {});}
