| Socialist councilor Enrique Lorca asks "what message are we sending, especially to young people, when all their leisure options are ¿½n closed while we keep the gaming rooms open "| The Municipal Socialist Group will defend a motion in plenary session next Thursday, January 28, to demand the closure of the interior of gambling halls and betting houses in the municipality given the high incidence of coronavirus infections that are is enduring.
In this regard, the socialist councilor Enrique Lorca affirms that it is "incoherent and discriminatory that, while the Regional Government of the Autonomous Community decrees the closure of the interior of bars and restaurants due to Covid-19, it does not apply, as a minimum, the same restrictions for the interior of gambling and betting rooms ".
And it is that for Lorca, "it is not very understandable that, in the interiors of these establishments, generally lacking ventilation and where there is continuous handling of machinery and interaction between its users, it is allowed at this time the occupation of 30% of the capacity and, therefore, its opening, unlike the restrictions for the interiors of bars and restaurants ".
Likewise, the councilor wonders "what message are we sending to society, especially to our young people, when we close cultural and youth centers to avoid contagion and keep the game rooms open" and, therefore, he warns that "apart from the health implications, we may be encouraging gambling when all other leisure options are closed." function { ;(, , {});}
