| They will interpret the 16th century carol Sus, sus, sus, which can be seen tomorrow on the Murcia City Council networks | The University of Murcia, through the Culture Service, has received more than 200 registrations from people interested in participating in the recording of a 16th century Christmas carol through the internet.
Among those who have joined this initiative are singers from twelve different countries: Canada, Germany, Spain, Italy, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Venezuela and Morocco.
All these people make up the virtual choir #MoreHispano, which has been created by Cantor a, a baroque music ensemble born within the Choir and Orchestra of the University of Murcia.
Specifically, they will perform the Christmas carol Sus, sus, sus (fragment of La Trulla), by Bartomeu C rceres.
The piece performed will be published on December 23 on the Murcia City Council networks.
The project has been carried out in collaboration with the University of Murcia and the Murcia City Council thanks to the 'Cultural Reactives' program.
Cantor a, which has been developing a great international career in recent years, has its origin in the Orchestra and Choir of the University of Murcia: Jorge Losana (tenor and director of the group) and Valent n Miralles ( low).
This creation was also formalized after a course in Historical Singing organized by the University's Historical Music Workshop, taught by Gerd T rk from the Schola Cantorum in Basel.
The #MoreHispano Virtual Choir was born from a larger initiative, MORE HISPANO, a Cantor a project for the diffusion of the Iberian polyphonic music of the Renaissance, which has the support of other institutions, such as Creative Europe of the European Union, EEEmerging + (Emerging European Ensembles), Spanish Cultural Action of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music, the Community of Madrid (Ministry of Culture and Tourism), the Institute of Cultural Industries and the Arts, the University of Murcia, Early Music Project, the Center Culturel de Rencontre d'Ambronay (France) and the Centro Di Antica de la Fundaci n Ghislieri (Italy).
Likewise, Cantor a has signed a collaboration agreement with the TROMPA project (supported by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program) that will allow the launching of a prototype for singers to chorus access to the synthesized repertoire of the vocal quartet.
