The Municipal Socialist Group highlights "the important and necessary commitment of the State Administration, chaired by Pedro S nchez, for Murcian heritage, not only in Castillejo, but also in Monteagudo Castle and in the site of San Esteban " The Municipal Socialist Group welcomes the news that the central government is going to invest a total of 1,334,997.63 euros to restore and preserve the lower enclosure of the Mardanis del Castillejo Palace, which is part of the Monteagudo complex.
The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda contributes 66% of the total budget for the action.
This investment is one of the six approved for the Region in the 1.5% Cultural Mixed Commission, chaired by the Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Transport and Housing, Pedro Saura, and made up of representatives of the Ministries of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda and of Culture and Sports.

Despite being classified as an Asset of Cultural Interest, it is currently in a situation of absolute abandonment, presenting a danger to physical health due to its state of erosion, accumulation of weeds, cracks and neglect.
