| The activity has served to gather experiences on public actions and similar normative references from other countries of the European Union that can be used for the development of a common law | The City Council, through the Department of Urban Agenda and Open Government, led by Mercedes Bernabé, has participated this week in the fourth session of the international PECA (Proposals on the Built Environment and Architecture) conference, organized by the Government of Spain , through the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, to promote the debate in the elaboration of the National Law of Architecture and Quality of the built environment.Member States of the European Union have shared their experience on the implementation of public actions carried out in this regard and the legal measures they have implemented.
Likewise, the activity has served to collect experiences from other countries on normative references similar to the Architecture and Quality Law in order to learn from nearby examples.“The objective is to develop a common standard, based on international experiences, where we have intervened, as well as other aspects to promote the quality of architecture and the built environment, promote the social roots of architecture, build economic development and safeguard the cultural and natural heritage ”, explained Mercedes Bernabé.Murcia's triple participation in the PECA conferenceMurcia has participated in the PECA conference with a triple aspect: as a representative of all the members that make up the Culture and Heritage partnership of the European Urban Agenda 2030, as head of the working group of creative and cultural sectors of this department; and as leader of two of the eleven actions that will be implemented at European level during the year 2021 and that are integrated into the Partnership Action Plan, such as' Conquest of public space through the Atomization of Culture and Cultural Reagents 'and' Cultural centers for innovation, modernization and improvement '.In this sense, for Mercedes Bernabé, "Murcia has been recognized in Europe as an example of good practices with a cultural model that encourages the promotion of our identity and that will have people as protagonists in the coming years".Murcia, pilot experience for the Spanish Urban AgendaMurcia has been selected by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda as a pilot experience for the implementation of the Action Plan of the Spanish Urban Agenda 2030.This collaboration protocol was signed a few days ago through the agreement signed by the Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, with the Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Transport and Housing, Pedro Saura, and the Secretary General for Urban Agenda and Housing, David Lucas Parrón."This fact places the municipality of Murcia as a benchmark both nationally and in Europe.
