Saura presents his candidacy to lead the party together with a work team made up of militants from various circles.
They state that their aspiration is to put into practice the organizational functioning model proposed in the open letter published days ago under the title "Towards an improved and exciting (municipal) Murcia Podemos". The labor lawyer and university professor, José Enrique Ruiz Saura, has announced his intention to appear to head the direction of the purple training in the municipality of Murcia.
Quique Saura, as he is known among the purple militancy, has so far been part of the Municipal Citizen Council (CCM) of Podemos (body that will cease to exist after this process to be replaced by the Municipal Council of Circles) and, previously, he was founder from the Murcia-Costera Sur Circle in May 2014. On this occasion, he goes one step further and attends the municipal spokesperson (former general secretary) led by a group of militants from most circles in the municipality.
Among them, two companions of Saura in the outgoing CCM, such as Meme Pérez (representative of the circles in said body) and Angie Brito (current Secretary of Youth and Culture of Podemos in the municipality).
In addition, the working group that aspires to direct the purple formation in the capital of the Region of Murcia, includes Paco Valbuena (a member of the youth organization Rebeldia), José Carlos Martínez (until now, a representative of the Círculo de Murcia Ciudad) , Silvia Latorre (member of the Círculo de Arco Norte), Manuel Luna (of the Círculo de Murcia Ciudad), Gonzalo Morán (of the Círculo de Murcia Sur),Manuel Moñino (Senior Area) or José Maldonado (member of the Círculo de Huerta Este).
Quique Saura states that, in the event that his candidacy obtains the majority trust of the militancy, the new executive and the team called to compose it would be structured by secretariats (organization, communication, finance, social movements and civil society, feminism, etc.) and, in addition, by areas with specific responsibility within them (migration and anti-racism, youth and decent leisure, presence in neighborhoods and districts, etc.).also, by areas with specific responsibility within them (migration and anti-racism, youth and dignified leisure, presence in neighborhoods and districts, etc.).also, by areas with specific responsibility within them (migration and anti-racism, youth and dignified leisure, presence in neighborhoods and districts, etc.). Likewise, since the candidacy they have indicated their intention to collaborate and maintain permanent contact with the public positions of Podemos in the town hall and municipal boards.
For this, it is intended to have the figure of a "link" that acts as a link between the new municipal leadership and the aforementioned public offices.
The militant who would take care of this work is Pedro Aparicio, a member of Podemos in the Municipal Board of Santo Ángel. Both Quique Saura and the rest of the members of the team proposed for the municipal leadership are signatories of an open letter that was made public in the middle of last week on the internal channels of Podemos under the title "HACIA UN PODEMOS MURCIA (MUNICIPAL) IMPROVED AND ILLUSIONING.
Municipalist organizational proposal for Podemos Murcia based on its neighborhoods, its districts, its social movements and its needs, "a document that came to light with the support of fifty Podemos militants in the municipality of Murcia.
Since this candidacy, they state that they feel "fully identified and committed to the municipal organization model that is advocated in the text," to the point that several of its members have been its editors and promoters. Given the difficulty of organizing face-to-face events due to the social distancing measures in force due to the current pandemic, since the candidacy it has been bet that all information about it is disseminated on social networks and various internal channels.
For this, this candidacy will appear in these media with the name "Municipal Alternative We Can Murcia". When asked about the possibility of achieving a unitary candidacy in this municipal process and the integration of other possible electoral options, from the candidacy they have been willing to do so if the conditions are met.
However, Saura has stressed that, for them, "agreements must necessarily be structured around common ideas, not based on armchairs." And for him, "the meeting point is the ideas collected in HACIA UN PODEMOS MURCIA (MUNICIPAL) IMPROVED AND ILLUSIONING, and the profile of those who form the work teams is that they are people who have credibility among our militancy to carry out those organizational ideas so important to us.
" The process for the election of the municipal spokesperson of Podemos in Murcia and of those who will form part of the Municipal Council of Circles, is scheduled to conclude on December 12.
Meanwhile, over the next few weeks, assemblies will be held in each of the 8 validated circles in the municipality so that their militants vote, both for the different candidates for spokesperson, and for the members of the aforementioned council.
