| The delivery of the credentials took place this Tuesday at an event held in Convalescence and in which the agreement was also renewed with the Fuertes Group for the functioning of the Chair | Two students from the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Murcia will finish their studies in Shanghai, China, thanks to a scholarship funded by the Grupo Fuertes-UMU Chair of Business Excellence.
Eduardo Ruiz Fernández, a student in the last year of the degree in Business Administration, and María Hernández Palma, a student in the last year of the degree in Economics, will benefit from this international mobility scholarship thanks to which they will study at the prestigious international center Antai College of Economics and Finance (ACEM).
In addition, they will carry out internships at the offices of ElPozo Alimentación in Shanghai. The event, chaired by the rector of the UMU, José Luján, was attended by Tomás Fuertes Fernández, president of Grupo Fuertes.
During the same event, the renewal of the agreement for the Grupo Fuertes Business Excellence Chair between Grupo Fuertes and the University of Murcia was also formalized.
This chair, established in 2018, aims to improve the employability of graduates of the University of Murcia, promoting international mobility and joint research projects in the field of Economics and Business.
Within it, two editions of the UMU Business Talent program have already been successfully developed, aimed at developing entrepreneurial talent among students in the final years of the Faculty of Economics and Business degrees.In each of the editions, 21 students have been selected from among the most outstanding students of the degrees taught at the Faculty of Economics and Business. Grupo Fuertes also encourages research through specific contracts with departments of research groups through this Chair and annually organizes a call for scholarships and national and international mobility activities to support the training of students. Grupo Fuertes has constituted two chairs at the UMU, one linked to the Faculty of Economics and Business and another of Food Safety and Sustainability, of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, to promote innovation and internationalization and apply the results of knowledge to business activity.
These actions are an example of the close relationship that this company has with the educational institution in the field of R & D & i. Also present at the event held in Convalescence were Pablo Lorente Martínez, financial director of Grupo Fuertes; José Ángel Cerón, Communication Director of Grupo Fuertes; Alicia Rubio Bañón, vice-rector for Employment, Entrepreneurship and Society at UMU; Samuel Baixauli Soler, dean of the Faculty and director of the Business Excellence Chair at Grupo Fuertes; and Marcos Antón Renart, Vice-Dean of International Relations of the Faculty and member of the Chair.
