The UMU launches a campaign with the slogan 'The closer you get, the further you get from what you want' to raise awareness about COVID-19 (01/12/2020)

| The objective is to sensitize the university community and society in general about the importance of complying the rules of social distance to be able to return to normality | The University of Murcia has presented this Tuesday at a press conference an awareness campaign against COVID-19 under the slogan 'The closer you get, the further you get from what you want' and that has the intention of raising awareness in the university community already society in general that now taking physical distance from the people and activities we want will make it take less time for us to get closer to what we want. The campaign, designed by the Sublima Studio agency, proposes with a fresh and dynamic graphic language different contexts with which the university population can feel identified: travel, leisure with friends, family reunions, represented by the image of the grandparents; and hugs and displays of affection.

These four graphic ideas are accompanied by the text: Take a distance to see the future clearly, avoid crowds in the common areas of the university, gatherings in homes or private parties that keep us from being able to hug / dance without fear / meet our elders / discover the world. The visual game proposed is that the images appear distorted when one is close to them and acquire sharpness when one is far away; so that whoever interacts with the media can experience the idea of ??the message in the first person: the closer you get, the further you get from what you want. The campaign is broadcast from this Tuesday, not only in the university environment, but will also reach society by hiring a circuit of 20 mupis in the main streets of the city of Murcia with which pedestrians can interact.

In addition, the interactive pieces will be disseminated through the screens and billboards of the UMU faculties and centers, internet banners, the institution's social networks and WhatsApp groups; The latter action for which we have had the collaboration of the student coordinator, the student delegations and the Student Council, who are sharing the images of the campaign through the groups in which they have activity so that it reaches the direct to the students' phones. The entire campaign will also be disseminated through the University website. "To the immense work that has been done for a long time at the University to raise awareness about prevention measures, we believed that it was necessary to take another step and we wanted all of society to see that the University of Murcia cares about society and that it does not we stay on our walls and try to put our grain of sand in order not to fall into a third wave and to be able to continue with our activity ", explained during the press conference the Vice-Rector for Communication, Javier Martínez Méndez, who has emphasized the" absolute responsibility and commitment to prevention measures "that the students and the rest of the university community are having. The rector of the University of Murcia, José Luján, has stressed the idea that "the best we can do now is to keep our distance and thus we will return as soon as possible to what we had; we must have a head and do things with common sense, because caring for others is the best way to beat the pandemic.

" The event was also attended by Nacho Abadía, creative director of the Sublima Studio advertising agency, and Ana Soro, a technician from the UMU Communication Service, who were in charge of detailing the details of the campaign.
