The third round of the work tables of the Social Council for the elaboration of the Urban Agenda Murcia 2030 begins (01/12/2020)

| Representatives and entities of all civil society analyze the most relevant topics for the study of the situation of the municipality | The City Council, through the Department of Urban Agenda and Open Government, led by Mercedes Bernabé, celebrates this week the third and last round of the Social Council working groups for the development of the Murcia Urban Agenda 2030.Representatives and entities of all civil society from the business, cultural, commercial and educational fields, among others, meet again to analyze the most relevant issues and thus study the situation of the municipality, its opportunities, obstacles, resources and potentialities.The meetings, which began yesterday and will run until Thursday, are held at the Artillery Barracks addressing the major municipal challenges detected in the previous diagnosis: 'Vertebración del territory' (November 30), 'Mobility and sustainability' (November 30) November), 'Social cohesion' (December 1), 'Talent and culture' (December 1), 'Open government and innovation in public management' (December 3) and 'Economic development and external projection' (December 3) December).This is the final round of expert consultation framed within the participatory process, a phase prior to the drafting of the Murcia Urban Agenda 2030 strategy.

This document that we are preparing will be a model for other territories in the development of policies and projects related to the environment, sustainability , integration or social cohesion ".Participatory process of the Urban Agenda Murcia 2030The participatory process of the Murcia 2030 Urban Agenda began in February with the implementation of different tools that will allow knowing the opinion of Murcian about the great challenges that affect them as citizens.

Thus, the organization of work tables, personal interviews with members of the Social Council, key agents detected from an analysis of networks and political groups, as well as the carrying out of 1,000 face-to-face surveys to citizens, an online consultation, a neighborhood panel and the citizen's mailbox.Mercedes Bernabé concludes that "we must understand urban planning not only as an economic resource, but as one of the most valuable natural elements that we have and in whose regulation it is necessary to combine a whole series of diverse factors, such as the environment, quality of life, energy efficiency, service provision and social cohesion, among others ".
