| The contract for the 'Electricity supply in the Murcia City Council' covers 2,300 contracts, for outdoor installations such as public lighting and for indoor installations, referring to buildings and municipal facilities | The Murcia City Council, through the Department of Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration headed by José Guillén, is carrying out actions to curb climate change, improve the environment and the quality of the air we breathe.
In this case, it is betting on 100% renewable energy for the municipal electricity supply.
These renewable sources come from hydro, wind and solar energy.The Governing Board has approved the award, through open procedure, of the 'Supply of electrical energy in the Murcia City Council, through two lots' that have been awarded to the merchant Nexus Energía.This contract covers the electrical supply of both public lighting, and municipal buildings and facilities.
It plans a total annual consumption of 71,410,891 kWh, requiring as an environmental clause that 100% of the energy supplied to the Murcia City Council comes from renewable energy sources or high-efficiency cogeneration.This maintenance covers 2,300 contracts, of which 1,300 correspond to lot 1 and 1,000 to lot 2.The first batch refers to supplies in outdoor facilities (public lighting, public fountains, pumps, traffic lights, underground containers, mobile phone antennas, among others) and batch two has to do with the supply in indoor facilities (municipal buildings, schools , nursery schools, general social housing services, charging points for vehicles and eventual supplies, among others).These two lots include the 105,000 light points in more than 8,300 streets and avenues, about 100 public fountains and lakes, 9,710 traffic lights installed at 510 intersections, hundreds of telecommunications antennas, electric vehicle recharge pumps, 148 schools.
public nursery, primary and special education, 7 nursery schools, 96 sports facilities, including 10 indoor and summer swimming pools, 354 municipal buildings in districts and neighborhoods, 4 electric vehicle charging points and 46 social housing buildings and / or general services of these, among others.In this way, two lots are planned for an amount of more than 24 million euros, more than 12 million correspond to lot 1 and 11 million to the second lot.
This contract is scheduled to start on December 1, with a duration of 2 years and 2 annual extensions (up to a total of 4 years).
