| The public attending these events will participate in awareness-raising activities on waste management, climate change, equality or sustainability | The University of Murcia (UMU) and the music festivals 'Animal Sound' and 'Fan Futura Fest', which are held in Murcia and San Javier respectively, will sign tomorrow, Thursday, November 19 from 9.30 a.m.
to 10 a.m.
at the Convalescence Building - Teniente Flomesta, 5, from Murcia- two protocols of action to promote and raise awareness through the project ODSessions to the attending public about the United Nations 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.In this way, awareness activities will be carried out on waste management, climate change, equality, non-discrimination, sustainability, renewable energies, poverty or responsible consumption, among other topics.
At the same time, young people will be encouraged to participate in solidarity projects coordinated by the more than 100 Murcian NGOs that currently collaborate with ODSesiones.The event will be attended by the UMU the rector, José Luján; the vice-rector for Employment, Entrepreneurship and Society, Alicia Rubio; the vice-rector for Social Responsibility and Transparency, Longinos Marín; and the coordinator of Culture, Francisco Caballero.While the 'Animal Sound' and 'Fan Futura Fest' festivals will be attended by their partners Álvaro Vargas, Juan Alberto Conesa, as well as the communication manager of both festivals, José Antonio Fernández.
The marketing director of 'La Verdad de Murcia', José Manuel Jiménez, responsible for sustainability and parallel activities of 'Fan Futura Fest' will also take part in the event.The event will be enlivened by Murcia-based DJ and producer from Albacete Rafael López, artistically known as Don Flúor, who has already collaborated with ODSesiones through the event for equality 'Enlazad @ s', held within the framework of SDG 5:' Equality of gender ', in the Plaza de La Merced.This act is part of the activities of November 2020, the month that the ODSesiones initiative dedicates to ODS 11: 'Sustainable cities and communities', and which are hosted by two UMU faculties: Informatics and Tourism and International Relations.All sessions can be followed online.
This UMU project, which runs from February 2019 to November 2021, has the support of the regional government, Aguas de Murcia, Bankia and the Cajamurcia Foundation.
