| The agreements, which are signed at the request of the municipal Economic Promotion service, led by councilor Pedro García Rex, represent a total amount of 45,000 euros | The head of the Department of Employment, Economic Promotion and Tourism, Pedro García Rex, today signed two collaboration agreements with the rector of the University of Murcia, José Luján; and with the president of Amusal, José Francisco Ballester, for the promotion and encouragement of economic development, employment and entrepreneurship in the municipality.Said agreements, signed at the behest of the municipal Economic Promotion service, represent a total amount of 45,000 euros, of which 30,000 euros is the amount allocated to the agreement with the UMU; and 15,000 euros to the one signed with Amusal.UMU: promoting entrepreneurial culture among university studentsThe agreement with the UMU is more specifically aimed at promoting an entrepreneurial culture among young university students.
"The development of common strategies between the Murcia City Council and the UMU will allow us to promote the development of ideas and projects promoted by the university community, whose purpose is the creation of new companies in our municipality", highlighted the mayor García Rex .Amusal, promoting entrepreneurship through the social economyFor its part, the agreement with Amusal is signed with the intention of supporting and increasing entrepreneurship in the field of social economy to improve the employability of people, especially those who are unemployed and with special difficulties to access the market of job.Mutual collaboration and unity of actionIn this sense, the head of the Department has emphasized the need to develop these agreements with universities, business associations, social economy, institutions, agencies, and third sector "to strengthen mutual collaboration and implement support measures to employment and self-employment that are contemplated in the Municipal Plan of Economic and Social Reactivation of Murcia ".For the mayor responsible, the collaboration and unity of action between institutions and economic and social agents is the most effective way to face the current situation derived from the pandemic.
"We are aware of the advantages that the promotion of entrepreneurship brings to our business fabric, we hope that the signing of these agreements will help us achieve our objective", he concluded.
