A Murcian short film awareness of psychological abuse on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (06/11/2020)

| The Councilor for Social Rights and Family, Pilar Torres, has attended the presentation of 'Mar', by Murcian production companies Biopic Films and Maskeline A Visual Foundry, directed by Joaquín Carmona Hidalgo and written by Salvador Serrano | The Councilor for Social Rights and Family, Pilar Torres, attended today the presentation and screening of the short film 'Mar', a work done by the Murcian production companies Biopic Films and Maskeline A Visual Foundry, directed by Joaquín Carmona Hidalgo and written by Salvador Serrano , which deals with psychological abuse. The event took place in the Miguel Ángel Clares room of the Víctor Villegas Auditorium in Murcia and was attended by the Minister of Women, Equality, LGTBI, Families and Social Policy, Isabel Franco, the director of Women and Gender Diversity, María Josefa García Méndez, as well as the members of the technical and artistic team of the short film.

 The mayor has shown her support for initiatives such as these, "so necessary to raise awareness and denounce the violence that is exercised against people who are discriminated against because of their gender" and has stressed the commitment of the administrations to "continue working on the development of policies more fair and egalitarian ”.The premiere of the short film was scheduled for the month of March, as one of the activities scheduled by the City Council for the celebration of International Women's Day, but, due to the state of alarm and the situation of the pandemic, it had to be canceled.

Thus, the presentation is resumed this month, just one year after its filming, coinciding with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which is commemorated on November 25.'Mar' tells the story of a woman who has lived unprotected all her life in the face of the monster of abuse, in the face of society, in the face of insufficient and ineffective measures that, with the help of everyone, can be rethought, redefined and reinforced.The artistic cast is headed by a representation of Murcian actors, such as Eva Torres, Sara Álvarez, Salvador Serrano, César Oliva, Andrés López and Nerea Camacho, winner of the Goya for 'Best New Actress 2009'.

Likewise, more than fifty professionals from the audiovisual world make up the team, including Daniel E.

Moncho, executive producer, along with Fina Martínez and Juan María Prieto; Alejandro Rius, production director; Kike Glez, director of photography; Fran Gas, editor; Juana Basat, art director, Javier Urosas, post-production supervisor; and Carla F.

Benedicto, composer of the BSO.The film has the support of the Ministry of Women, Equality, LGTBI, Family and Social Policy, through the General Directorate of Women and Gender Diversity, as well as the collaboration of the City of Murcia, through the council of Social Rights and Family, along with other consistories.
