It is intolerable and shows that it is a formation that is guided by lurching and lack of unity of judgment. In response to the socialist mayor Enrique Lorca, the popular ones detail that it was the socialist president Pedro Sánchez who proclaimed that "we have defeated the virus." He said it in the Congress of Deputies on June 10 in one of his last public appearances to speak about the pandemic.
It seems like a joke, but it is the harsh reality that Mr.
Lorca now tries to hide in a partisan way.
The PSOE is not qualified to give lessons or demand anything from anyone. The PP criticizes that the socialist government has abandoned the municipalities to their fate in the management of the pandemic and has completely ignored it, since it has still not paid anything of the 5,000 million Covid aid that it promised nor has paid anything of the funds to alleviate the fare deficit in public transport. As a counterpoint to this way of proceeding, the Popular Group has applied policies to support the hospitality sector since the beginning of the pandemic that will save employers the payment of almost 3 million euros. From the PP they remember that in the last meeting of the Municipal Plenary the modification of the fiscal ordinances was approved, a measure that will allow Murcian hoteliers not to pay anything to install their terraces during the first half of 2021, thus saving 380,000 euros. Likewise, the popular ones remember that this extension of the reduction of rates for table and chair rates, together with that of the weekly markets, and the reduction of the garbage rate and the ICIO represents an impact of almost 2 million euros in sales taxes that businessmen will stop paying to the municipal coffers. The Municipal Group emphasizes that we began to adopt measures from the beginning.
For this reason, in May we approved that the premises affected by the cessation of activity as a result of the declaration of the State of Alarm could benefit from the minimum quota for garbage collection. In the same way, the popular recall that the Government Team set up a contingency fund endowed with 1 million euros to support the main productive sectors of the municipality, the same ones that are absolutely forgotten by the Pedro Sánchez Government, although that seems to downplay Enrique Lorca. By way of conclusion, the Popular Group points out that the measures we have applied are not finalists but will be renewed if the future of the pandemic so advises.
If necessary, new support measures will be launched to promote economic revitalization and job creation in the municipality.
