| The members of the Commission have followed up on various municipal procurement files | The members of the Procurement Oversight Commission, chaired by the First Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Development, Mario Gómez, have agreed to continue working to guarantee the legality and transparency of municipal contracts."It is essential to continue reviewing compliance with the conditions of the bids awarded to guarantee the quality of public services," said Gómez, who has assured that "there is a firm commitment from the government team to improve public services in each municipal contracts and concessions ".In this sense, the first deputy mayor has stated that "since we came to the local government we are exercising greater control of the winning companies to guarantee that the obligations contracted are rigorously fulfilled."Likewise, it has insisted that "minor contracting must be residual and must be carried out on an exceptional basis", in compliance with public contracting legislation, for which "it is still necessary to carry out an internal instruction that establishes the protocols and procedures necessary to allow this type of contract to be carried out, in a unified way, in all municipal services ".During the session held today, which contained a very extensive agenda, the members of the Commission monitored various municipal contracting files and analyzed the information provided.
In addition, they have agreed to request the services responsible for the contracts analyzed to report, in detail, on the situation in which each of these files is found and its justification, in order to draw conclusions.
