| The project foresees the construction of a naturalized route with native vegetation distributed in different plant stations according to the color of their flowering | The Governing Board has approved the project and specifications for the works of the Puxmarina Green Path, in La Raya.
A maximum amount of 300,411.19 euros will be invested in these works and will be executed within a period of six months. The aim is to recover the space that configures the underground route, about 700 meters long, of the Acequia Puxmarina, starting from the confluence between Avenida del Padre Martínez and Carril de la Generala, and ending in Plaza San Antón of Puebla de Soto.In this way, a naturalized route will be created with native vegetation distributed in different plant stations according to the color of their flowering and soft earthy-looking pavements. The whole environment will be given the character of a tourist-cultural route, equipping it with an attractive signposting that will explain the points of interest along the route, a bike path, and the creation of various meeting and stay areas equipped with benches.Naturalized green space as a stay areaThe creation of this 'friendly way' in the heart of the western orchard, pursues several objectives:1º.- Give it the character of 'Vía Verde'.
With maximum integration in the natural environment and in the sections of urban spaces through which it runs, creating an itinerary of connection between the affected populations.2º.- Accessibility.
The solution adopted provides the space with total accessibility, ease and safety, allowing promoting sustainable mobility and the practice of walking and cycling, activities that are especially attractive for people with reduced mobility, such as children, the elderly and the disabled.3º.- Green free space for the population of the area.
Starting from the central nucleus of the district of La Raya, this friendly way can also be understood as a naturalized green space for the use of the local population, as a pedestrian, cyclable walk or for use as a stay area.4th.- Environmental and landscape integration.
The route is wooded and revegetated, which is integrated and mimicked with the adjoining orchard spaces, without generating a distorting impact on the whole, constituting a privileged observatory of the environment that surrounds it, achieving a notable environmental improvement. With this project, the Government Team maintains its commitment to the territorial and social structuring of the districts at the same time that an environment of the Murcia garden is recovered, creating a new friendly area for the residents of La Raya and Puebla de Soto.
