| The Department of Urban Agenda and Open Government, through the European Programs Service, organizes this activity in which representatives of countries will participate such as Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium | The City Council, through the Department of Urban Agenda and Open Government, led by Mercedes Bernabé, invites Murcian to commemorate World Cities Day through participation in an online meeting with attendees from different countries with the title ' The resilience of Cities in the time of Covid-19; Local projects and strategies focused on citizens'.The United Nations General Assembly designated October 31 for this celebration that has been commemorated since 2014 throughout the world with the aim of promoting the common interest of the international community in global urbanization, improving cooperation between countries, as well as building of more sustainable urban environments.In this way, the Department of Urban Agenda and Open Government, through the European Programs service, has organized for tomorrow, October 30, at 11:00 a.m., a digital forum, with the collaboration of UN-Habitat, under the slogan 'Valuing our cities and communities'.
The activity will have round tables, where Murcia, representing Spain, will intervene together with other countries such as Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands.“This meeting is a space for reflection and dialogue about the future of our cities, about the problems we face every day, such as the current situation of Covid-19, and we have to know how to respond responsibly and in a sustainable way ”, Mercedes Bernabé highlighted.
