1st Baccalaureate students from the Francisco Cascales Institute of Murcia receive the first prize in the Autonomous Final of Clip Films by Manos Unidas in Murcia (28/10/2020)

| The winning short 'Choose your Huella' encourages young people to impact society with good acts to fight climate change and hunger | The Manos Unidas delegation in the Region of Murcia has presented the first prize to the winners of the regional final of the 11th edition of the Manos Unidas Clip Film Festival. On this occasion, the students of 1st Baccalaureate of the IES Licenciado Francisco Cascales have been winners with a short entitled 'Choose your Huella', with which they intend to raise awareness and encourage young people to choose to leave good footprints on our planet to fight climate change and its impact on the most impoverished countries. The students have received a symbolic projector from Manos Unidas as an award and the center has obtained a check for 200 euros to invest in school supplies and audiovisual material. The event was attended by David Martínez, general director of cooperation and open government of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia; Antonio Pérez, director of the IES Licenciado Francisco Cascales; Carmen Calatayud, professor at the IES Licenciado Francisco Cascales; Arturo Andreu, dean of the College of Journalists, on behalf of the jury of clip-films in its autonomous edition; and with Juan Manuel Núñez, representative of Banco Santander; and María Ruíz, representative of Ramón Climent Photography; as sponsoring companies of the Clip-film Festival in the Region of Murcia. During the event, the delegate president of Manos Unidas in Murcia, Teresa Romero, commented that "at Manos Unidas we know that life is not easy for the millions of people in the world who, due to pollution and overexploitation of natural resources, they suffer from poverty, disease, thirst and hunger.

Therefore, we need to change our lifestyle to combat climate change and its consequences in the poorest countries.

" For his part, David Martínez recalled the importance of raising awareness on this issue, especially among young people because "they are the adults of tomorrow and they are the ones who will assume the responsibilities in civil society that we will leave to the next generations." This is the objective pursued by the XI edition of the NGDO Clip-Film Festival which, under the slogan 'You', What footprint do you leave? ', Has focused on the impact we exert on the planet and the most impoverished people to generate awareness and provide solutions. The event, which has been held following all the health and security measures in force due to the Covid-19 pandemic, took place at the Francisco Cascales de Murcia IES in an outdoor event.
