| To carry out these works it will be necessary to close the facilities for 15 days | The Department of Urban Agenda and Open Government, led by Mercedes Bernabé, will carry out different improvement works in the San Basilio Library that will allow expanding the space dedicated to youth and adult literature.To do this, an exclusive area will be created for the Children's Section, from 0 to 13 years old, enabling the mezzanine of the building.

Thanks to the relocation of this room, it will be possible to increase the facilities for the Youth and Adults Section.The works include the closing of the balcony that communicates it with the rest of the space and the installation of an automatic door at the start of the staircase that gives access to said area and which until now was occupied by the References Section, in which you could consult encyclopedias, yearbooks, atlases and other great works.The works also include the dismantling of the existing metal railing where a self-supporting partition will be built that will acoustically isolate the area in order to enable activities with child users.Finally, in the final location, the shelves will be assembled and the books, records, films and other library collections will be relocated.

Likewise, the lighting of the Youth / Adults Section will be reinforced thanks to the installation of LED-type luminaires.The expected duration of the works, which will begin tomorrow, Wednesday and which will involve an investment of 15,344 euros, is 15 days.

During this period it will be necessary to suspend the services to the users of this branch.

On www.rmbm.org and on the RMBM social networks, the day of the return to activity will be promptly informed.Councilor Mercedes Bernabé has indicated that "we continue working to offer the best services to library users, adapting to their needs and collecting their suggestions to optimize resources and facilities."This branch of the Murcia Municipal Library Network (RMBM) shares a building with the Puertas de Castilla Municipal Center, occupying part of the first floor.
