The meeting of the Board of Spokespersons marks the beginning of the participation and consultation process, which begins this week with the launch of the project and the presentation of the website, after the corresponding socioeconomic diagnosis of the intervention area.

Likewise, this week the first meeting of the Panel of Experts will be held and, the next, the Social Panel.The Board of Spokespersons today analyzed the different bodies and consultative processes that will allow shaping the transformation of the southern neighborhoods and districts, the revitalization project of the southern neighborhoods and districts of the city that will involve the recovery of more than 200,000m2 of public spaces, after the burial of the railroad tracks.The councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, presented the mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, and the different spokespersons of the municipal groups, the consultative process and its corresponding schedule, in order that the projects have the maximum consensus and social support.The organs and tools of this participation process, which is open to the entire Murcian society and has as protagonists the residents of Barriomar, San Pío X, El Progreso, Patiño, El Infante and Santiago el Mayor are the following: the Social Council , the Commission for Monitoring the Agreement, a Panel of Experts and a Social Panel, individual meetings with reference groups of the municipality, participation in social networks, surveys, neighborhood forums, cultural, economic and social affairs agoras, information tents and activities in educational centers.This week: launch of the project and presentation of the webThis same week the process of participation and consultations begins with the launch of the project, the presentation of the web page and conceptualization of the action, after the corresponding socioeconomic diagnosis of the intervention area.Likewise, this same week the first meeting of the Expert Panel will be held and next week the Social Panel will take place.Panel of Experts and Social PanelThe Panel of Experts will periodically contribute its vision, analysis and evaluation of the different proposals associated with the South Connection projects.

It will be chaired by the mayor or, by delegation, by the Councilor for Sustainable Development and Huerta.

The vice president will be the General Coordinator of Projects and technical deputy director of the Department of Sustainable Development and Huerta.This Panel of Experts will include the technical managers and supervisors in charge of the development of the projects, as well as representatives of the universities of the Region and of the professional associations of Architects, Civil Engineers, Channels and Ports and Agronomists.The Social Panel will have the function of making periodic contributions to the different proposals associated with the South Connection projects.

This Social Panel will include the technical managers and supervisors in charge of the development of the projects, as well as representatives of the Neighborhood Councils of the affected neighborhoods and other groups and entities related to accessibility, commerce, culture, the environment and the life of the neighborhoods.Leading role of political groupsPolitical groups with representation in the Murcia City Council will receive periodic information on the conceptualization and progress in the drafting of projects, as well as on the development of the citizen consultation process.At least once a month, through the Board of Spokespersons, the heads of all political groups will be able to monitor the status of the projects and their development, as well as the progress made in the different forums for reflection and consultation, both in the technical and social fields.
