| Councilor Mercedes Bernabé today closed the second round of the working groups that took place this week with the members of this representative body of civil society | The Social Council of the City has analyzed this week the most relevant topics for the study of the current situation of the municipality for the preparation of the Urban Agenda Murcia 2030.The Artillery Barracks has been the space chosen for the holding of the six work meetings of this second round, which has had a total of one hundred attendees, members of the Social Council.
Monday began with the celebration of the first two on 'Vertebration of the Territory' and 'Mobility and Sustainability'; on Tuesday it continued with 'Social cohesion' and 'Talent and culture'; and today it closed with the last two on 'Open Government and Innovation in public management' and 'Economic development and external projection'.The mayor, who has attended the closing of the last two, thanked the City Social Council for intervention, as the highest body for citizen participation, and highlights that "the path taken is very interesting" and insists that "we must continue to deepen in the development of new participation instruments that favor the involvement of citizens in decision-making processes ”.The next step will be the completion of the third round, which is scheduled for next December.
Through these meetings, the Social Council and municipal technicians, together with researchers from the University of Murcia, will specify the areas of intervention and lines of action to take into account for the strategy of the Urban Agenda Murcia 2030.“We are in the middle of the participatory process prior to the drafting of this strategy, a document that will allow us to articulate the policies, programs and projects that guide the future of our territory, based on the six themes that we are currently analyzing in the work tables.
