| The publication has been designed by the Telecare Service and will be distributed among all its users, as well as among the 30,000 members of all the social centers for the elderly | The councilors for Social Rights and Family, Pilar Torres, and for the Elderly, Disability and Development Cooperation, Paqui Pérez, presented this morning the Post Covid-19 Recommendations Guide that the Telecare Service team has designed with advice for people older people to avoid contagion in the group of older people and promote that they face the 'new normal' with guarantees.This publication will be delivered to the 3,073 users of the Telecare Service.
In the same way, from the Department of the Elderly they will articulate the distribution so that the copies reach the 30,000 members of the network of Social Centers for the Elderly in the municipality, made up of 76 units.
The Department will send the guide to the boards of directors of the centers so that they can channel the delivery of the copies.The publication provides intuitive and visual recommendations about the preventions that must be maintained to avoid contagion, such as following a routine hand washing, avoiding touching the nose, eyes and mouth or covering the nose and nose with the elbow.

All this with the aim that the pandemic reduces the conditions of such an essential group as that of the elderly as little as possible.Older people, an essential groupPilar Torres and Paqui Pérez have pointed out that "this guide is one more tool we offer from the Government Team so that older people cope in the best possible way with the effects caused by the coronavirus.
We are aware that they are a group that needs all of our support and we will implement policies to promote their protection and well-being.
"The mayor of the Elderly recalled that "in my department we continue working to recover the activity of the social centers for the elderly as soon as the pandemic allows us, in the meantime we are carrying out a plan of conditioning and improvement of these spaces so that they are ready ahead of its reopening ".For her part, Councilor Torres has valued "the work provided by the Telecare Service workers, who provide individualized and specific treatment to each user, adapting to the specific needs presented by each beneficiary."Telephone control roundsSince the start of the pandemic, this service has answered 37,734 calls and worked with 3,073 people.

Of the 37,734 calls that have been managed, 77%, that is, 26,522, have been issued by the service within the rounds of telephone control of users made by professionals and another 11,212, that is, 23%, have been calls made by the beneficiaries of the service.
Of these, 1,204 have been related to the coronavirus.Most of the calls managed by the service have had to do with talks due to situations of loneliness, to request or give information and to attend to health and social problems and those derived from the health emergency.Calls have been issued to users of the service to provide advice on protection and prevention of contagion, as well as to detect psychosocial risks, offer support, accompaniment, security and recommendations related to the confinement situation.Calls to accompany the grief and special follow-upIn addition, specific calls have been made to accompany the grieving and special follow-up calls to people identified as being at risk of abuse.
Likewise, a special monitoring has been carried out on users with oral communication difficulties because they are a particularly vulnerable group.This service allows social integration, maintaining personal autonomy, preventing emergency situations, combating unwanted loneliness and providing social welfare for the elderly dependents.
Users, in the last satisfaction survey carried out on the service, scored 4.7 out of 5 for the care received.The service professionals remind users of taking medications, using an agenda, and remind them of medical appointments, flu campaigns and vaccinations, as well as preventive monitoring when waves of cold or heat arise.
They also establish a bond with them, transmitting security information, calm and combating unwanted loneliness.
