| New services will be launched on seven lines starting Tuesday, in addition to the increases implemented in September | The public transport concessionaire company in the metropolitan area of ??Murcia reinforces bus services at peak times on Tuesday, in a total of seven lines.
This increase is made by virtue of the Order published by the Autonomous Community that has the objective of adapting the supply of services to the demand to alleviate the 50 percent reduction in vehicle capacity due to the coronavirus. The service increases will be carried out on the line that connects Murcia with Molina de Segura (Line 22); El Palmar (Line 26); Los Ramos (Line 30); El Raal and Alquerías (Line 31); Alcantarilla and Espinardo (Line 44); Algezares and Cabezo de Torres (Line 50) and Fuente Álamo, Corvera and Lobosillo (Line 72). These reinforcements of bus services are in addition to those carried out on September 8 and 25 on four of the lines mentioned above, in addition to those that connect the capital with the towns of Ceutí, Sangonera La Verde, Santomera and Blanca (lines 21 , 28, 36 and 42).
In addition, this academic year, the three lines that connect with the Espinardo campus (39, 47, 78) have been completely restored and have been reinforced at rush hour to favor the mobility of university staff and students. The general director of Mobility and Litoral, Marina Munuera, framed these adjustments in the continuous work that her department carries out, in collaboration with the concessionaires, of adapting the offer of services to the real demands of travelers, especially in these times of coronavirus where the demand does not follow the usual patterns. "These increases are intended to avoid possible incidents on the lines with the highest demand due to the occupancy restrictions on buses," said Munuera, who said that the demand for public transport services is suffering a strong reduction compared to last year.
