| The installation can be visited until November 6 in the La Capilla Room of the Convalescence building | The University of Murcia has inaugurated this week the sculptural exhibition 'Gloria' by Cristóbal Barbero, which can be visited in the Sala La Capilla (Convalescence building) until next November 6. As Barbero points out, "this installation starts from the encounter with nature, and is approached from an interest in the construction of the relationship with the environment and context in which I live, providing a situation full of certainties".
A cloud of lead and mud in the form of rain is installed floating in the Chapel of Convalescence and invites us to think about the act of acceptance and positioning.
"Positioning ourselves under it entails an act of cleansing and healing, it is accepting what is to come, knowing that all change belongs to us.
When one becomes aware of their own weaknesses, these become strengths capable of redirecting us between uncertainty, in which the weight exerted builds sculpture Finding yourself in the process is valuable, taking new unplanned directions,It takes us to places to discover, and having the courage to face them will necessarily draw the bow so that the arrow directs you to where you want to go ", explains the artist. The object of study of Barbero's research focuses on artistic creation by capturing the link between emotion and contact as an artistic experience, moving through sculptural media.
"This installation involves the commitment of physical contact with our environment, an approach with what surrounds us, charging the piece with emotional truthfulness.
'Gloria' is the premise of a trip, it tells us about what is to come", he concludes the author.
