Las nuevas ideas serán tenidas en cuenta durante el proceso de elaboración de la Estrategia de Infraestructura Verde del Municipio de Murcia.Sobre el ClimathonEl Climathon es un evento diseñado por Climate-KIC, iniciativa Europea de lucha contra el Cambio Climático que fomenta la asociación pública y privada para dar respuesta al reto de construir una economía sin carbono.

Esta iniciativa se lanzó por primera vez en el 18 de junio de 2015, involucrando a 19 ciudades de todo el mundo y a más de 2,6 millones de personas.

Actualmente es el mayor evento en torno a los desafíos del Cambio Climático que existe.En cada edición se ha trabajado con un reto sobre el cambio climático, Así, en 2016 la temática fue ‘Cómo mejorar la adaptación del Municipio de Murcia al Cambio Climático', en 2017 ‘Imágenes para una Murcia resiliente en 2030', en 2018 ‘Soluciones de Adaptación para una Murcia Resiliente 2030' y en 2019 ‘Cómo mejorar la gestión de residuos en la Huerta de Murcia’.Cuatro áreas de trabajo clavesLas cuatro áreas de trabajo que se desarrollarán son las siguientes:Conexión entre zonas verdes urbanas, periurbanas y espacios naturales: soluciones para mejorar la conexión entre zonas verdes y su entorno, para los ecosistemas y las personas.Infraestructura verde y mejora de la identidad e imagen del municipio de Murcia: soluciones que permitan crear un vínculo entre la infraestructura verde de Murcia y su imagen, sirviendo de referente económico, social y turístico.Conservación, mejora, restablecimiento o creación de servicios ecosistémicos en zonas verdes: soluciones que permitan prestar de forma efectiva servicios ecosistémicos (acumulación de agua, reservorio de biodiversidad, zonas de esparcimiento, disminución de los rigores climáticos).Valoración económica de los servicios ecosistémicos proporcionados por las zonas verdes: soluciones para poder valorar económicamente los servicios ecosistémicos que las zonas verdes nos aportan.
