| Hundreds of them embellish and give the aroma of orange blossom to the historic gardens of the municipality such as Santa Isabel, Floridablanca, Salitre, Chinese Garden, Red Cross Square and San Garden Antonio, among others | The Murcia City Council, through the Department of Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, has begun pruning hundreds of orange trees in the historic gardens of Murcia.These works are intensifying in the historic gardens of Santa Isabel, Floridablanca, Salitre, Jardín Chino, the Plaza de la Cruz Roja and the San Antonio garden, located in the Santa Eulalia neighborhood, where the Deputy Mayor, José Guillén has supervised these labors."Our objective is to improve the image of the city, our environment and guarantee the safety of the neighbors, both in the garden areas of the municipality and in the different streets and squares where these orange trees are located.
These trees are a hallmark of the city of Murcia, and they offer a characteristic smell of orange blossom in spring that surround the streets "has highlighted José Guillén.These works are part of the organized calendar of the Murcia City Council that will, in the coming months, be pruning about 15,000 orange trees spread throughout the municipality of Murcia, and of which it is expected to collect more than 500,000 kilos of oranges.A team of six people from the STV-Actúa concession company have been working hard for several weeks to ensure that all the orange trees in the historic gardens look their best.
