| Councilors Marco Antonio Fernández, Felipe Coello and Belén López have visited the center to supervise the installation, which will occupy a total area of ??1,320 square meters | The councilor of Pedanías and Barrios, Marco Antonio Fernández, together with the councilors of Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, and Education and Infant Schools, Belén López, today visited the works that are being carried out in the CEIP San Pío X de Murcia, where a new roof is being installed on the existing sports court in the courtyard, with a total area of ??1,320 square meters.The City Council has allocated an investment of 166,617 euros to this action, which is part of the Extraordinary Plan for Pedanías, endowed with more than 14 million euros.

The works, which began in June, are expected to finish next October."Investing in districts means promoting the structuring of the municipality through the construction of infrastructures that contribute to the quality of life of the neighbors and, in this case, of our children", highlights Marco Antonio Fernández.Futsal, basketball and volleyballSpecifically, the court is suitable for the practice of futsal, mini-basketball, basketball and volleyball.

In addition, the new roof will also allow cultural activities to take place inside the multisport court."The students of this educational center will have a space that can be used every day of the year, since this facility prevents the entry of rainwater and, at the same time, provides more shade, so they are also useful for the carrying out any outdoor activity ”, Felipe Coello explained.New covers in three educational centersThe Council of Pedanías and Barrios has allocated an investment of 578,885 euros to the installation of new roofs on the sports courts of three educational centers: Nuestra Señora de la Mercedes de Puebla de Soto, CEIP Nuestra Señora de Fátima de Beniaján and San Pío X .The works are also part of the Summer Works Plan, coordinated by the departments of Education and Nursery Schools, Pedanías and Neighborhoods and Sports and Health.“The continuous improvement of educational facilities is, without a doubt, our priority.
