The PSOE considers "extremely serious the alleged irregular processing of minor contracts that the first deputy mayor himself denounces" (11/09/2020)

| The Municipal Group affirms that it is still worse than the report, presented by Mario Gómez, warns that this type of procedure can be extend to other municipal areas | The Municipal Socialist Group considers "a very serious fact" that supposed anomalous practice in the hiring that the first deputy mayor, Mario Gómez, has exposed, according to which there would have been "irregular procedures" in the Murcia City Council, like him He himself explains in the report that he has sent to all the municipal political groups and that will be studied in the next Special Commission for Hiring Surveillance. For the Socialist Group, this suspicion, "increasingly widespread", has to be rigorously investigated to get to the bottom and, above all, "to clear up any minimum doubts about the honorability of the Murcia City Council, which manages the coexistence of a population of almost half a million people.

" Socialists consider that this report, in the absence of being corroborated by a thorough investigation, already has certain guarantees coming from the hand of the first deputy mayor and head of municipal contracting, so that "we, as the main group of the opposition, we are going to insist that everything is sufficiently clarified and that the derived responsibilities are clarified.

" Thus, the Socialist members of the Hiring Surveillance Commission will demonstrate. However, "if the way to proceed with minor contracts is already extremely serious, it is more dangerous for Gómez to warn that it is possible that this type of modus operandi could be extended to other municipal areas." Likewise, the Socialist Group recalls that there are reports from the municipal intervention that have also called into question some procedures and that at the Governing Board of July 31, the first deputy mayor requested the removal of the Chief of General Services for all these alleged irregularities and that he refused to sign the files processed from this service until a substitute was appointed, and even requested that the Councilor for Citizen Security or the mayor himself assume responsibility, as has happened on other occasions.
