It plans a total annual consumption of 71,410,891 kWh, requiring as an environmental clause that 100% of the energy supplied to the Murcia City Council comes from renewable energy sources or high-efficiency cogeneration.In this way, two lots are planned, for an amount of more than 24 million euros, more than 12 million correspond to lot 1 and 11 million to the second lot.
This contract is scheduled to start on December 1, with a duration of 2 years and 2 annual extensions (up to a total of 4 years).Likewise, this contract will allow the cost of electricity consumption, which comes from renewable energies, of all municipal services provided by the Murcia City Council to citizens.Lot 1 deals with supplies in outdoor facilities (public lighting, public fountains and pumps, traffic lights, underground containers, mobile phone antennas, among others.Lot 2 affects supplies in indoor facilities (municipal buildings, schools and nursery schools, general social housing services, vehicle recharging points and eventual supplies).The Murcia City Council thus assumes its commitment to curbing climate change, improving the environment and the quality of the air we breathe.
Thanks to this technology, the consumption and emission of carbon dioxide is reduced, along with other measures, such as the Forest Plan or the Clean Air Strategy.
