The City Council has a track record in the participation of different networks at national, European and international level that will favor that the lines of this European plan have more scope and dimension.Both the Consistory of Murcia and that of Genoa will promote the participation of associations, groups and citizens in the acts that derive from the signed twinning.285 proposals received and 127 selectedThe Executive Agency for Education, Culture and Audiovisuals has received 285 proposals in this year's European Commission call on town twinning.

In the case of Spain, Murcia is one of the three beneficiaries that has obtained funds.The implementation of the SISTER Project will contribute to promoting the understanding of the elements, values ??and links that are common to Murcia and Genoa.
Furthermore, it will strengthen the alliance between the two cities and enable a common dialogue to be established that will serve as a context for the European Union as a whole.The SISTER Project also aims to create spaces for citizen encounters that enable both cities to face their main challenges looking for common solutions.
It will also promote the creation of forums for reflection on issues such as the tools available to the European Union to adapt to new changes, what are the most appropriate channels of participation to effectively reach citizens and responses to global problems that local entities can offer.
