| The councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, meets with the director of the European Parliament office, María Andrés, to show the lines of work carried out through the European Programs Service | The councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, has met with the director of the office of the European Parliament in Spain, María Andrés, to work on proposals that promote the participation of women in debates, conferences and seminars, as well as the development of actions against climate change.Specifically, Murcia's accession to the initiative of the European Union # Dondeestánellas, a project that was born in March 2018 with the aim of making the presence of expert women in the public space visible, and the participation in # UnÁrbolPorEuropa, an action aimed at making visible the importance of sustainable development at the local level and involving young people in decision-making processes."Murcia's participation in these European proposals represents a further step in the development of sustainable urban policies, aligned with the Murcia 2030 Urban Agenda strategy in which we are currently immersed", explains Mercedes Bernabé.Lines of work with EuropeFurthermore, during the meeting, Mercedes Bernabé showed the four lines of work carried out by the City Council, through the European Programs Service, such as the Urban Agenda 2030 and the DUSI 2020 strategy; obtaining community funds in consortium with other Spanish cities; the participation of the city in networks and working groups at European and international level; as well as the diffusion of the image of Europe and the approach of the European institutions to the citizen.In the mayor's word, “Murcia is a municipality that is closely linked with Europe.
