The Contentious Chamber of the TSJ dictates a car allowing the continuation of the rehabilitation works of the Old Prison, highlighting that the General Directorate of Cultural Assets has already rejected Huermur's request for the building to declare itself BICThe Murcia City Council reports that the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice has issued an order that does not meet the precautionary measure requested by Huermur to challenge the award of the rehabilitation works of the Old Prison.

In this way, it allows the continuation of the works that are underway.In the order, the Court highlights that the General Directorate of Cultural Assets previously rejected Huermur's request for the building to be declared BIC.The City Council reiterates that all the actions carried out to start the rehabilitation of the Old Prison have been carried out in strict compliance with current legislation.In addition, the Council, after learning of the file opened by the Ministry of Culture and Sports as a result of the complaint made by the Huermur association for the beginning of the demolition of the walls of the Old Prison, has sent an official letter today.

To the Ministry in which it has provided the supporting documentation that all the procedures followed by the Government Team are legal and in accordance with the degree of protection the building has, which is expressly included in the General Urban Planning Plan, whose content has been respected and taken into account at all times.The Government Team has recalled that the rehabilitation project of the Old Prison is part of the commitment it is following to recover heritage spaces to restore them and put them in value for the enjoyment of citizens.
