Murcia is positioned as the fourth city in the world that houses one of the few families of captive-born Iberian lynx (23/07/2020)

??| Terra Natura hosts two Iberian lynx, Brisa and Maghreb.

The first has arrived from the Doñana Recovery Center and belongs to the first litter of Iberian lynx that was born in captivity | The Murcia City Council, in collaboration with the Terra Natura park and the Regional Government, continues to recover new animal species that are in danger of extinction.

In this way, the City Council has been participating for ten years in programs aimed at protecting the Iberian lynx.Through the Department of Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration led by José Guillén, the municipal animal park promotes educational actions on the protection of this species and collaborates in the strategy aimed at reintroducing it to the Region of Murcia.In this way, Terra Natura is positioned as the fourth zoo in the world that welcomes Iberian lynxes, since they are only found in those spaces that comply with strict protocols and in which very specialized attention is guaranteed.The lynx family consists of Brisa and Maghreb.

The first has come from the Doñana Recovery Center, is a 14-year-old female and belongs to the first litter of Iberian lynx that was born in captivity within the European Iberlince program.'Maghreb' comes from the Silves breeding center, in Portugal, it is a 4 year old male."Thanks to these new additions to the large family of animals in Terra Natura, we managed to foster love and care for the environment and respect for animals in the youngest, in an environment where they can learn and enjoy equally.
