| These plans, which will be ratified by the Governing Council on July 24 and completed with the teaching guides in preparation, will be sent to ANECA for review and follow-up | The University of Murcia has published on its website the third version of the contingency plans of each of its faculties.In the framework of the exceptional nature of the pandemic COVID-19, the Ministry of Universities and the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE) have recommended that universities plan teaching activities for at least the first four-month period of the next academic year , based on three possible scenarios: a first scenario based on full face-to-face teaching; a second scenario in which reduced and safe face-to-face teaching would be combined with non-face-to-face teaching (semi-attendance); and, finally, a third scenario in which all teaching would be taught in person.Following these guidelines, the faculties of our university have elaborated the general academic programs ("contingency plans") which indicate how the academic activity will be developed at the beginning of the next academic year.
In these plans, the centers have had to report:The relevant characteristics of the degrees for the design of the methodology and evaluation of the subjects that comprise it.The schedules and the occupation of classrooms in all the degrees and masters taught in the different faculties in the scenario of full face-to-face teaching.The adaptation of teaching, the schedules and the occupation of classrooms according to the Royal Decree that regulates the new normality in all the undergraduate and master degrees taught in the blended teaching scenario.The adaptation of teaching, the schedules and the occupation of classrooms in all the undergraduate and master's degrees taught in the non-classroom teaching scenario as a consequence of the imposition of a new confinement.The adaptation of the evaluation of the TFG / TFM in which the three scenarios must be considered.Information regarding the adoption of extraordinary security measures, if deemed appropriate, for practical classes.The reorganization of external curricular internships in each of the three scenarios depending on the faculty and the companies, organizations or institutions where they are going to be carried out.The official calendar of exams for all the subjects or subjects of the undergraduate and master's degrees taught, prepared under the premise that an attempt will be made to carry them out in person, avoiding crowds and guaranteeing physical distance measures.To facilitate teaching to small groups of students transmitted via streaming to the rest of the class synchronously, the UMU is installing the necessary technological equipment in most of its classrooms.
The capacity of the Virtual Classroom servers will also be strengthened (which was already increased before confinement in anticipation of having to carry out online teaching, as it happened).These contingency plans have been reviewed by the competent vice-rectorships and will be ratified in the Governing Council to be held on July 24.
Likewise, they will be reviewed by ANECA within its strategy for quality assurance in virtual education.
These general programs at the level of each faculty will be completed with the teaching guides that are currently being prepared and that must be supervised by the departments.The Rectorate of the University of Murcia wants to thank all the teaching staff for their effort and dedication in this task, which will undoubtedly result in ensuring quality teaching in our institution, without forgetting the coordination work they have carried out satisfactorily all the management teams of the faculties.
