The houses of 21 cities during the confinement look out to the new exhibition of Los Molinos del Río (15/07/2020)

| 'Living Foto Room Project' collects more than a hundred photographs taken thanks to the project that the Red Camera launched during the state of alarm | The Los Molinos del Río space premieres an exhibition.

'Living Foto Room Project', designed, produced and curated by The Red Chamber, shows more than a hundred photographs and a video installation that reflects the vision that participants in this challenge had of their homes during confinement. This exhibition, which will open tomorrow and can be visited until October 3, was born from the initiative that the Red Chamber launched during the state of alarm: through challenges, different photographic tests were proposed that allowed participants to consolidate new skills and develop a personal style always from home.In total, 25 tests were developed that included nearly 500 participants from 21 cities in 6 countries and more than 2,500 photographs. This project deepens, through images, in a collective expression that starts from the individual creative process, of the need to transmit the internal, the intimate and the particular towards a sharing of shared feelings and emotions. These 25 challenges were inspired by great authors of photography, from the unmistakable concepts of Chema Madoz, the maximum referent of the importance of objects, the intrinsic message in everything that surrounds us and his power of communication, to greats of photography of all times as Edward Weston (The Peppers), The Second Skin of Cecilia Paredes, The Self-portrait of García Alíx, Cindy Sherman as The Queen of the Selfie or the risky, Taking Out the Trash of Todd Hido, among many others."The exhibition absolutely reflects two great truths: the great quarry of amateurs and lovers of photography in Murcia and its power of communication as a reflection of time and extreme circumstances and full of uncertainty," said the Councilor for Culture and Heritage, Jesús Pacheco. The councilor thanked The Red Chamber, made up of David Flores Torrecillas, Silvia Marte and Marta Pina, "for the implementation of this original and novel project and their desire to bring culture closer through photography, creating this sociological experiment that it has become a collective narrative of a historical event.

"Pacheco recalled that "from the City Council we work on the implementation of a new cultural model in which supporting artists and creatives at all stages of their professional careers and bringing culture closer to new audiences will be essential" .The exhibition can be visited from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m.

to 2 p.m.

and from 6 p.m.

to 8 p.m.
