The project has received the go-ahead from the Governing Board for hiring at the meeting held this morning. The bulk of the works will be carried out between the Cabezo de Torres soccer field and the José Rubio Gomariz school in the district.

The area will be paved and equipped with equipment, such as benches, stands and points of stay so that residents and visitors can rest.Heritage recoveryThe area in which the works will be carried out belongs to the Historic Site of Monteagudo and Cabezo de Torres and has the declaration of Well of Cultural Interest.

The project is part of the commitment to the recovery of heritage that the Government Team has been developing in recent years. In this way, the Town Hall has acquired the Armero Mill itself, the Castillejo de Monteagudo and the Alberca de Larache, buildings that it will restore and that are part of the strategic project of the Archaeological Park of Monteagudo, which encompasses a total surface area of ??over a million meters squares.Five months of execution and 165,000 euros of budgetThe deadline for the construction of the green path is five months and the budget to finance the actions stands at 163,285 euros.

The starting point of the works will be the vicinity of the Cabezo de Torres soccer field, where the operators will place concrete paving on the ramps and access to the surroundings of the Churra la Vieja ditch. The project, which has the required favorable reports from the Huerta de Murcia Landowners Board, is also committed to undertaking an environmental restitution on the sides of the ditch by planting trees and shrubs. The plant species will create a green promenade attached to the channel of the canal.

The path will connect, in the southern area, with the José Rubio Gomariz school and with Calle Mayor de Cabezo de Torres.Seats, shaded areas and signageIn addition, on the north face, it will link the school and the soccer field.

The place will serve as a meeting point, stay and rest.

There will be seats and shaded areas and a row of signage will offer residents and visitors explanations about the main heritage landmarks found in the environment.

In the passage area there will also be terraces. This green path will present an aspect very similar to that of the traditional dirt roads that dot the orchard areas.

This will be accomplished with the use of limestone aggregate and binder.

Likewise, safety rails will be placed on the edges of the ditch. The environment in which the works will be carried out has a great heritage weight because the Armero Mill and the Churra la Vieja ditch are added to the remains that are preserved in the place of an Islamic raft that are in the vicinity.
