The parliamentary spokesman, Juan José Molina, recalled that "there is a specific item for this action of 750,000 euros in regional budgets, of which 450,000 were transferred to the Murcia City Council to be used urgently through an agreement", so it does not understand the state of abandonment of the site, declared a Site of Cultural Interest and which houses the remains of a palace-defense complex of the King Wolf."Our commitment to Monteagudo has been constant and continued," said Molina, who recalled that already in 2017 the orange formation introduced an amendment to regional budgets to endow with 690,000 euros the rehabilitation of the archaeological complex of Monteagudo and in 2019 even that amount it was increased to one million euros.
"Despite this, we find that the complex has slowed down its activity and gives a feeling of abandonment, with complaints of dirt, something that we do not understand and so on the one hand we are going to ask for explanations and on the other hand to help it start the work as soon as possible ”, concluded the parliamentary spokesman for Citizens.
The issue will be discussed at an upcoming local government meeting.
