| The City Council has installed more than 1,600 new light points in half a year, reducing the power by 236,922 W and reducing 364 kilos of CO2 to the atmosphere | The City Council, through the Public Lighting service, dependent on the Department of Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, which José Guillén directs, installed in the last 6 months a total of 1,633 new light points. "These works are carried out to guarantee the safety of our neighbors and improve the environment, reducing pollution and the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
With these actions we provide our arteries with better and greater lighting that facilitates circulation, both to passers-by as drivers, and we managed to generate significant economic savings "José Guillén stressed.The actions carried out during the last 6 months have reduced 236,922 W of power and an energy saving of 734,458 Kwh.
Likewise, the installation of the new light points in the different places of the municipality has meant a reduction of 364 kilos of CO2 into the atmosphere and an economic saving of 102,824 euros.The actions have been carried out on the Alcantarilla, Patiño, Sangonera la Seca and Murcia roads, among which are those of Muralla and Pintor Sobejano streets, Los Pinos avenue, Marina Española avenue, La Fama avenue and Juan Carlos avenue I, among others. These works are framed within the Smart City strategy in the area of ??Energy Efficiency, within the actions of the Public Lighting Maintenance Service to modernize existing luminaires with ultra-low consumption ones.
