The City Council has worked on increasing the wooded area and reinforcing garden areas, betting on Mediterranean species with low water consumption, which contributes to reducing CO2 emissions into the atmosphere and creating new shady areas in the residential areas.The City Council has also expanded the shrub areas, occupying an area of ??more than 1,100 m2, and has renovated the parterre in the northern part of the park, which has been entirely covered by new shrub species, creating new vegetation areas with different colors and native species with low water needs, which means a reduction in energy consumption for maintaining the environment.A 120 m2 pergola for the new children's play areaThe works in the La Paz park have also involved the renovation of children's games, as well as their paving.

The new games have been chosen for their resistance and are aimed at developing physical activities outdoors, with elements such as climbing nets, climbing wall, slide, balance ropes and a swing for children with reduced mobility.Likewise, a 120-square-meter pergola has been installed in the children's play area to protect families from social radiation and heat, especially during the summer months.The action has been completed with the creation of a sandpit for younger girls and boys, leading to the establishment of two completely renovated and age-differentiated children's areas, totaling 210 square meters.

In all the surroundings of the park, in addition, the urban furniture has been renovated and expanded, since 44 new benches have been enabled.Intelligent irrigation system that adapts to the water needs of each momentThe City Council has also enabled a new irrigation system in the Parque de La Paz that is controlled remotely and allows irrigation to be adapted to the environmental conditions and water needs at all times, optimizing energy savings.

Specifically, it has a power system that works with solar energy for data transmission, humidity sensors and anti-loss filters.The modernization of the irrigation system is part of the Murcia Smart City municipal strategy, which is developed through the MiMurcia project, the smart city model that puts the latest technological innovations at the service of people, improving the quality of life of Murcians and environmental sustainability.Three new multi-sports courts for families in El PalmarThe City Council is also working on the installation of three new multi-sports tracks for the residents of El Palmar, of which one is located in the Garden of La Paz, another in the park of C / Gabriel Luján Caballero and another in Garden C / Chronicler Carlos Valcárcel.The works for the installation and adaptation of the three courts, which will have indoor soccer goals and basketball baskets, began two weeks ago and are scheduled to finish in September.
