"Given the situation of closed schools or schools for children or without 100% activity, we propose aid to self-employed who take care of minors so that parents can reconcile and thus also create jobs", explains Carmen Fructuoso Likewise, the socialist councilor proposes a series of measures not to abandon unemployed young people, reactivate the economy and promote employment in the municipality of Murcia The situation generated by the Covid-19 has been a tremendous blow to our society, our economy and our employment.
The Municipal Socialist Group presented, together with the political groups of Ciudadanos and Podemos, a plan for the socioeconomic reactivation of Murcia with 67 measures for the Murcia City Council to help the people and groups most affected by the Covid crisis and reactive socially and economically our municipality.
Within this document, Carmen Fructuoso, socialist councilor, proposes a series of concrete actions "aimed at helping unemployed young people, generating employment and reviving our economy," explains Fructuoso. "We believe that favoring a specific supply and demand for childcare aimed at unemployed people willing to care for boys and girls during the months when schools and nursery schools are not working 100% could tackle two important problems that affect the Murcian citizenship: on the one hand, we help fathers and mothers in their work-life balance and on the other, employment is generated, "says Fructuoso.
The way to do this happens because the Murcia City Council "allocates € 20,000 to aid so that people willing to carry out this work can meet the costs of the first 3 months of self-employment," says the mayor. Likewise, Fructuoso proposes the creation of "direct aid to the self-employed and companies affected by the Covid-19 so that they can meet current expenses," said the councilor.
"They are having a large amount of supply costs, rentals, insurance, renting ...
while their income has been affected by the crisis we are going through.
The Murcia City Council should allocate one million euros to this line of aid, with the possibility of increase the amount if necessary, "proposes Fructuoso, who adds that" citizens must feel protected and supported by their closest administration.
The self-employed, SMEs and companies are essential to the economy of the municipality and many of them are seeing directly affected by this crisis. Our job as politicians is not to abandon them to their fate, but to work in their favor.
" Another of the points that Fructuoso highlights in the document is aimed at youth employment.
"Young people are facing a future full of shadows and uncertainty.
In our municipality there are currently 7,287 young people unemployed, without being able to consider any future plan and who are waiting for solutions and support from their City Council," says the mayor.
"Promoting entrepreneurship and self-employment could be one of the formulas.
From the Municipal Socialist Group we are committed to the implementation of the Murcia Joven Emprende program, which includes € 500,000 in aid so that those under 35 can implement their idea business or company.
" Finally, Fructuoso proposes the development of an extraordinary investment plan so that the works of neighborhoods and districts highly demanded by neighbors are started.
"The idea is to streamline the projects that have been waiting for a long time, that have a budget already committed, and that would give employment to many residents of our municipality." "In fact, this means that works could be repaired and carried out in many schools and nurseries, in municipal homes, renovation of electrical installations in municipal centers ...
All these actions would employ bricklayers, workers, electricians ...
and solve needs that Neighbors of the municipality have been demanding months and even years, because they are works endowed with money to be able to carry them out and that are not being carried out due to the ineffectiveness of the government team, "Fructuoso demands.
