| The Councilor for Education and Infant Schools has visited this school on the occasion of the start of the actions framed in the Plan of Works in Educational Centers | The City Council has started the Work Plan in Educational Centers for this year, which will be endowed with 2,000,300 and will be carried out in a total of 80 public schools in Murcia and districts.

 This action is part of the work carried out by the council for the continuous improvement of sports, educational infrastructures, senior centers and green areas throughout the municipality in order to contribute to the quality of life of the residents and to the structuring of the territory .The Councilor for Education and Nursery Schools, Belén López, visited the CEIP Santiago el Mayor today to commence work on this plan, which will be carried out throughout the summer.Specifically, this school plans to waterproof and increase drains from the terrace above the gym's warehouse, replacing the roof of the skylight, as well as the intermediate coverage between the corridor on the first floor and the gym.The performances, which will have a budget of 32,512.48 euros, will be completed with the painting work in the school hall, in addition to the gym and changing rooms, among other repairs.“The return to school this year will be a highly anticipated moment for the entire educational community, so we wanted to take advantage of the early absence of activity, due to the Covid-19 crisis, to start these works as soon as possible and leave the centers in perfect condition and with the maximum security guarantees ”, explains Belén López.The mayor has also verified, taking advantage of the visit to the center, the cleaning works that are being carried out.

Specifically, Ferrovial Servicios y Técnicas y Servicios Integrales del Levante operators have acted today in the classrooms with the ozone cannon to disinfect the spaces.Plan of Works in Educational Centers 2020The City Council has allocated an injection of more than 2 million euros to this plan, which is divided into two major blocks: maintenance and improvement of the services and benefits of the educational centers, where the actions promoted by the Municipal Boards are located, and , on the other hand, investment and renovation of sports facilities.It should be noted that this plan is the result of the work coordinated by the Department of Education and Nursery Schools, districts and neighborhoods and Sports and Health.The improvement actions focus on the repair of the roofs damaged by DANA, as well as the affected interior areas, the reform of the toilets, replacement and renovation of doors, specific repairs of masonry, plumbing and carpentry, replacement of deteriorated elements, etc.Regarding sports works, the replacement of sports courts, goal repair, laying and renovation of the pavement, as well as the repainting of the game lines are some of the actions carried out since January and that will be carried out in the rest of schools during the summer months.
