Likewise, dry palms will also be eliminated, as well as the fruits that may fall on public roads and cause a nuisance for pedestrians.
These works are being carried out by several teams made up of more than a dozen people, and which are scheduled to last until next November.Although the work will be carried out throughout the municipality of Murcia, some of the places where there is a greater concentration of palm trees are the Palm Grove of Santiago and Zaraiche, Lobosillo, among others.Once the pruning is completed, phytosanitary treatments will be carried out on the specimens to avoid the presence of the red palm weevil, thus ensuring the growth and development of the palm trees."They are unique trees in the history of and evolution of Murcia.

Special attention is also paid to other trees in the municipality, specifically those named as singular.
These inspections are carried out by external specialists and municipal technicians, who pay special attention to the heat waves suffered by the municipality, since the high temperatures affect the trees, specifically the ficus due to their large size.In addition, there are 70 sensors installed in different ficus that increase security controls reporting humidity in the tree environment, temperature, irrigation, soil moisture, as well as foliar.
