| The petition has been sent by FESORMU, which with this initiative aims to give visibility to this language | The façade of the City Hall Annex Building will light up turquoise tomorrow to commemorate the National Day of Spanish Sign Languages, thus responding to a request sent by FESORMU with the aim of drawing the attention of society as a whole to the deaf and deafblind people. The City Council, through the Department of Urban Development and Administration Modernization, joins this initiative in order to contribute to sharing and promoting the dissemination of these long-minorized languages, which are the best tool not only to build equality, but also promote measures to normalize its use beyond the domestic, educational or socio-health areas. It is also a measure that will serve to remind people of the need to join efforts in each and every one of these areas so that these people can exercise their rights. The Federation of Deaf People of the Region of Murcia (FESORMU), a benchmark entity in the Region in terms of care for deaf people, has as a priority mission to achieve full inclusion in society of deaf people, deafblind people and their families, through defending their rights, strengthening their associative movement and accessibility to communication, with the value of Sign Language.
