| ANECA has notified the verification of these two new training proposals | The new degree replaces the Information and Documentation The UMU is waiting to receive the approval of the new title of Geographical Sciences and Techniques. The National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) has verified the proposals for two new degrees to be taught at the University of Murcia from the next course: the degree in Information Management and Digital Content and the master in Engineering Chemistry. The degree in Information Management and Digital Content will be taught at the Faculty of Communication and Documentation and comes to replace the degree in Information and Documentation (which is being extinguished).

This new degree is a degree oriented towards the changing sector of the emerging professions in digital communication and information, within the framework of what is known as the digital economy.

The unstoppable evolution towards a digital society especially affects the forms of access and intermediation to the content and information services and requires a new professional trained in the technological dimension of the production and publication of content, its organization through multi-domain metadata schemes to enable their discovery, access and consumption from digital platforms, as well as their preservation. This degree aims to provide sufficient information technology skills, standardization, and quality of information management processes and the ability for organizations to create value from recorded or generated knowledge.

These new professionals would carry out their task integrated into multifunctional teams alongside data analysts, business strategy experts, computer developers and creatives. The Master in Chemical Engineering comes to complete the degree training in this field that has been taught at the UMU for years.

This new title specifically delves into the most specific subjects of this specialty and pursues the training of professionals with sufficient competencies to carry out research, development and innovation tasks in chemical engineering and its various applications in industry, addressing the resolution of complex problems and the design of new projects. These two titles represent an approach of the training offer of the University of Murcia to two professional sectors based on knowledge and that need professionals sufficiently trained in emerging disciplines, so necessary for the advancement of society in general and the Region of Murcia.

in particular.

Both degrees are pending the approval of the Interuniversity Council. Likewise, the UMU is waiting to also receive the approval to verify the new degree in Geographical Sciences and Techniques that would be taught at the Faculty of Letters and which, in addition to constituting a new focus in the study of this discipline, is the first degree in which the two public universities of the Region of Murcia will jointly start.
