| The City Council begins the second part of this participatory process, which will continue in July with the Social Council working groups of the City | The City Council, through the Department of Urban Agenda and Open Government, led by Mercedes Bernabé, continues tomorrow with the consultation phase for the preparation of the Murcia 2030 Urban Agenda.Specifically, it involves conducting videoconference interviews with different socioeconomic experts in the territory, who have been selected as key informants through personal interviews conducted with members of the City Social Council between the past months of February and March.The objective of this new process is to obtain additional and detailed information on the most significant aspects of the pre-diagnosis carried out within the framework of the Murcia 2030 Agenda, and, at the same time, to obtain more concrete and structured data on the future challenges of the municipality.Specifically, among the representatives who will form part of this next phase are: Cristina Gutiérrez Cortines (Ars Civilis Foundation), Severiano Arias (Tranvimur), José María Tortosa (AMEFMUR), Antonio Gómez Fayrén (Legal Council of the Region of Murcia) , Miguel Martín (CES), Juan Antonio Pedreño (UCOMUR), Pedro García Cuesta (Grupo Orenes), Miriam Fuertes (Chamber of Commerce), Antonio Botias (Chronicler of Murcia), Fernando Gómez (Proexport), Emilio Diez de Revenga (Ambiental SL), and Antonio Trigueros (Cetecom).Consultation phase and work tablesThe participatory process for the design of the Murcia 2030 Urban Agenda, promoted by the Department of Urban Agenda and Open Government, began on February 4 with the convening of the plenary session of the City Social Council, made up of fifty organizations, associations and social groups of the municipality.After this meeting, the consultation phase began with individual interviews with the members of the Social Council and now continues with these interviews with these socioeconomic experts selected to participate in this process of collecting information prior to preparing the strategy. Once this phase is concluded, the next step will consist of convening the six working groups with the members of the Social Council.These meetings will be held, predictably, from the first fortnight of July and will deal with the following topics: Table 1: Territorial vertebrate; Table 2: Environment and Mobility; Table 3: Social cohesion; Table 4: Talent and Culture; Table 5: Open Government and Innovation in Public Management; Table 6: Economic development and external projection.“The elaboration of the Murcia 2030 Urban Agenda is an opportunity to promote the growth and sustainable development of the municipality, since it will become the roadmap for urban policies for the next 10 years.
In addition, its importance is also determined because the Murcia City Council, together with the consistories of Malaga and A Coruña, were selected last year as a pilot experience for the implementation plan of the Spanish Urban Agenda ”, explains Mercedes Bernabé.
