Given the circumstances caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, this year the Corpus Christi procession will not take place through the streets of Murcia, instead, a cloistered procession of the Blessed Sacrament will take place inside the Cathedral.The Bishop of Cartagena, Mons.
José Manuel Lorca Planes, will preside over the 10:00 am mass, after which there will be a time of Eucharistic adoration and the cloistered procession with Jesus Christ in the Sacrament, concluding with the blessing and reservation of the Blessed Sacrament.From the Cabildo de la Catedral they remember that the capacity of the temple is still limited, 200 people, and that access will take place on Sunday through the door of the Apostles and through the Plaza de la Cruz.
"We will ask the faithful who participate in the mass to remain in place during the procession, in order to safeguard the security distance and thus collaborate in its better development," explains the dean of the Cathedral, Juan Tudela.In preparation for the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, during this week (from Monday to Saturday) there will be an exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in the Cathedral, from 7:30 to 12:00, “thus promoting Eucharistic adoration to all who wish come to pray before the Lord ”, underlines the dean.
