José Guillén.Puente Tocinos has a renovated and modern fountainThe residents of Puente Tocinos already have the renovation of the Juana Jugán fountain, which represents an improvement in the image of the district for the enjoyment of all the residents who live there and visit it.The Murcia City Council, through the concessionaire company STV, has brought this space of more than 178 square meters to life, which has 37 jets of water, with a diameter of 15 meters and a volume of about 55 cubic meters. In addition, LED lights have also been placed underwater, creating a meeting and gathering space for all the residents of the municipality.Improvements have also been made to waterproofing the glass, restoring the machine room and creating a perimeter wall that enhances its beauty while reducing the amount of dirt it can receive. This source is also devised and thought to save water and energy, for which it has a highly energy-efficient pumping system that allows a higher flow with less consumption, thus betting on savings as a way of working in all improvement works.
that we are doing in the municipality of Murcia.Work is also being done on the construction of ten new ornamental fountains in the most emblematic places of the city, such as Santo Domingo and San Esteban; the holding of an annual ideas competition, in which the winning project will be executed; and the investment of 100,000 euros per year destined to the construction of new sources in the municipality and its districts, for five years, are the other three major measures that make up the Alberca Plan.Treatments for water conservationThese facilities require constant revision, on the one hand, for health reasons for citizens, since it is necessary to control the quality of the water to avoid legionella situations, and, on the other hand, it is necessary to control the mechanisms themselves to prevent leaks or leaks that can cause wetlands and technical problems.
For this, the City Council has two teams that are treating the water and carrying out periodic chlorination.
These treatments have already been carried out in the Isaac Peral garden (Garden of the 3 glasses), Plaza Mayor, Plan of San Francisco, Garden of El Malecón, Garden of the rafts in Infante and Garden of the Civil Guard - Calle Arquitecto Juan de Toledo in Cabezo de Torres.Legionella attacks mainly when the water is stagnant, so in this hot season it is important to increase the operating hours of the municipality's sources, with the usual hours being from 8 in the morning to 10 at night, although there are some that extend this schedule from 7 in the morning until eleven at night.
