Terra Natura donates 580 kilos of basic necessities to the Food Bank (04/06/2020)

| The City Council is in charge of coordinating the solidarity initiatives that arise to guarantee that the items reach the families that need it the most | Terra Natura today donated 580 kilos of staple food to the Segura Food Bank to help the groups most affected by the socio-sanitary crisis caused by the expansion of Covid-19.The Murcia City Council is in charge of coordinating the solidarity initiatives that arise to guarantee that the products reach the families that need it most.The councilors for Social and Family Rights, Pilar Torres, and for Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, José Guillén, attended this morning the donation ceremony.Pilar Torres highlighted that "solidarity gestures like the one Terra Natura has done today have been a constant in recent weeks.

The Government Team sincerely thanks all the solidarity that individuals and entities are having.

The care of the most vulnerable is a priority for the City Council.

We are available to whoever needs us.

"Councilor José Guillén thanked "the closeness that Terra Natura always shows with those who need it most, this natural park that is always ready to champion solidarity projects and is a benchmark for all Murcians.

With solidarity shows like the one it has done today Terra Natura services provided by the City Council multiply and help more people who need our support.

, salmon, potatoes, bread, onion, meat and doughs.The attention provided by the entities of the third sector has the full support of the Murcian Consistory.

The Department of Social Rights has allocated an extraordinary grant of 750,000 euros to contribute to the work they do.More than 2,000 people servedThe City Council, in collaboration with these entities, has designed a territorial map to articulate the distribution of food that is carried out every week to serve those most in need.

Currently more than 2,000 people are served, of which more than 600 are minors.The work carried out by Cáritas Diocesana, the Red Cross and the Food Bank has allowed the food distribution network to reach all corners of the municipality, ensuring that aid reaches all who need it.
