| The City Council is working on the construction of 352 elevated niches and 80 columbariums | The councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, today visited the construction works of 352 elevated niches and 80 columbariums that are being carried out in zone 45-B of the Nuestro Padre Jesús de Espinardo cemetery. The mayor points out that these expansion works are already in their last phase and will be completed in the first half of June.

The works are being carried out by the company Multiservicios Tritón and involve an investment of 144,167 euros.The churchyard currently has around 170,000 burials, more than 800 pantheons and more than 20,000 graves, in addition to 5,000 niches and 560 columbariums.

Annually around 1,200 annual burials are made.Limited hours and visitsThe Nuestro Padre Jesús Municipal Cemetery, in Espinardo, has been open to the public since last week, at 8:00 am.

at 1:00 p.m.

and from 4:00 p.m.

to 8:00 p.m., with a maximum capacity of 25 people per visit and hour.

In addition, visitors must adhere to the usual hygiene and safety measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.The City Council, through the Municipal Health Services, decided to open the cemetery in accordance with Order SND / 399/2020, of May 9, of the Ministry of Health, which regulates national restrictions, established after the declaration of the state of alarm in application of Phase 1 of the plan for the transition to a new normality.In addition to the hours and the capacity limitation, the two-meter security and hand hygiene measures established by the health authorities for the prevention of Covid-19 must be respected.
