This was agreed at a meeting by the councilor for Culture and Heritage Recovery, Jesús Pacheco, and the representatives of the various festive groups: Javier Arenas, president of the Federation of Moors and Christians; Juan Pablo Hernández, President of the Federation of Peñas Huertanas; José Antonio Sánchez, president of the Sardinera Association, and José Ignacio Sánchez, president of the Cabildo Superior de Cofradías.In this way, both the Spring Festival and the September Fair are on hiatus and will resume next year."Given the circumstances that are being experienced, we believe that it will not be possible to celebrate the September Fair as Murcia's deserve, so we have preferred to go ahead and suspend the various activities planned," said Pacheco.The councilor has assured that "we will work tirelessly so that the festivities of 2021 are the best in the history of the municipality."Pacheco thanked the representatives of the festive groups "for their commitment to safeguarding the health of everything, both participants and spectators, as well as their predisposition and collaboration in making this decision."
